Adopting The Perfectly Imperfect Mama Chan

“When we first went to the Ministry of Cat, we never intended to adopt a cat. We just went for some delicious food and some cat cuddles. However, when we met Mama Chan, it was love at first sight and we knew we had to have her.

Adopting through the Ministry of Cat was simple. They replied quickly to our messages and organised an interview within a couple of days. We were reasonably new to the country so they were able to give us tons of advice about owning a cat in Phnom Penh and put us in touch with ARC who had originally rescued Mama Chan. We were a little nervous about adopting a blind cat but having that connection with both ARC and Ministry of Cat was really reassuring and actually it has not been a problem at all.

The best part of adopting Mama Chan has been seeing her personality change. She has grown from being timid and shy to a confident little cat who loves to play and have fun. She is affectionate and full of energy and we are really glad we made the decision to make her part of our family. “
